Exercise can help you manage your anger, and it’s a great way to release tension in the body. When we’re angry, our bodies often tense up and make us feel even more irritable than we would otherwise be. Physical activity can help relieve this tension by stimulating the release of endorphins. It’s the same hormone produced when we exercise or experience pleasure.
Give Yourself a Time-Out
Take a time-out from the situation. Don’t engage with the person who upset you. Don’t think about the situation, especially if it’s something that’s been going on for a while and has built up anger within you. Also, don’t talk about it with anyone else either; this will only make matters worse as they may try to convince or persuade you into thinking differently than how they do!
Don’t Take Things Personally
When you’re angry, it can be difficult to separate your emotions from the situation. For example, if someone cuts you off on the highway, you may automatically assume that they did it because they hate you or want to make your life difficult. Even if they did mean to do what they did, it’s unlikely that this was their primary motive for cutting you off. This process will help ensure that other people aren’t responsible for how angry or upset we feel!
